Next generation Hyundai Grand i10 has been spotted under testing. The new car is expected to be the 2020 model. The test car looks slightly bigger and will compete against Swift and Figo. The car features the new Hyundai design language as seen in the cascading front grille.
The current generation Grand i10 has not faired well in the security assessment by Global NCAP. Since by 2020 the Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment program will also be in force, the new model is expected to have better structural safety as well as occupant safety. This means twin air bags, ABS, speed alert alarms, reverse sensors and seat belt warning will be a standard offering. The engine which will be both petrol and diesel will also meet the BS VI emission norms.
Another key expectation will be that of an AMT borrowed from upcoming Santro, to lock horns with Swift AMT. Being Hyundai, a refreshed and feature rich interior will be Hyundai’s answer to take on the competition.
