What are they?

Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP are two performance versions of ordinary Tiago and Tigor. The highlight is that the JTP versions are powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine that produces 112 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 150 Nm of torque @ 2,000-4,000 rpm. Power transfers through a 5-speed manual transmission which has 2 driving modes – Sport and City. According to Tata, the JTP versions feature performance intake and exhaust systems as well as a tuned suspension and a lower ride height and wider tyres compared to the standard models. Automaker claims that the cars can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in around 10 seconds, while the top speed has been pegged at 160 km/h.

How do you make out them on road?

Though the overall design remains the same, both cars reveal the race DNA through a set of subtle but evident changes. If they come against you, notice the lowered stance along with side skirts. It features a bold front fascia having a new grille with the JTP badge, a sculpted bumper with a new trapezoidal air dam below it and  new fog lamp housing.  There is a new twin pod projector headlamps with chrome rings, dual tone exterior with black roof, dual tone 15 inch alloy wheels and colour contrast side mirrors. Adding more spice, notice the vents on hood and fenders.  The car is available in only two colours of red and white.

Getting into one, the colour contrast interior accented with red accents marks a JTP. The all black interior has red sorrounds on the ac vent. The 3 spoke multi function steering wheel has leather wrapping with red stitching. The seats are plush looking though in fabric upholstery with red hexagonal patterns. The seats also provide ample thigh and back support. There is a twin pod instrument cluster with central multi information display. Though there is the 8 speaker Harman touch screen infotainment system, automatic climate control is seen only in the Tigor JTP. The aluminium foot pedals add to the race charm.

Safety

With so much of power on tap, the standard safety features include, dual air bags, ABS, EBD and corner stability control. It also has lowered suspension and wider tires for more road grip.

JTP
